Ten minutes by car will take you to Benone Strand; a 7 mile stretch of golden beach which has Blue Flag status and a tourist complex that offers very good facilities to locals as well as to holidaymakers.
Fifteen minutes will also take you to Magilligan Point where you can drive on to the car ferry and be in the fishing village of Greencastle, County Donegal in another twenty minutes. Magilligan Point also offers The Point Bar where you will find a warm welcome and very good food – in the winter months a blazing log fire will tempt you out for the evening.
On top of Binevenagh Mountain (1.5 miles from the house) is a romantic fishing lake located before you reach the stunning Cliffs.
From the property you can drive over the Bishops Road with its spectacular views of Donegal across the Lough, and to Portrush, Portstewart and the Giants Causeway with the Scottish islands in the distance. Soon you will come to Downhill beach and the Bishops Castle, Mussenden Temple and Downhill Gardens.

Daily shopping can be done in Bellarena (5 minutes by car). It offers a small supermarket and post-office, as well as a railway station and a bus stop.
Bellarena is on the main railway line between Londonderry and Belfast.
The nearest town is Limavady, (8 miles) here you will find shopping, banks, schools, pubs and restaurants.
Coleraine is 13 miles away; it is a large town with a busy town centre and all the facilities you would expect to find including excellent shopping, restaurants, a marina, cinema, theatre, leisure centre etc.
Nearby Castlerock is a small holiday village that also offers a beautiful golden beach and a golf course.
A short drive away are Portrush and Portstewart; seaside towns with good restaurants, family entertainment and beautiful beaches.
The area is known for its sport and leisure opportunities; fishing, sailing, water sports, horse riding, hang gliding, gliding, golf, walking are just some of the more popular activities available.
There are many schools in the area including several well respected grammar schools and integrated schools. Coleraine and Limavady both have Technical Colleges and The University of Ulster has a campus at Coleraine.
