| Sports and spare time |
A little known secret of Tabarka: I gess one cant read this add and just go and live there. But for us Tabarka has been exhautic, peaceful, and a bit layback from the everyday fast race. Located in the centre of the Mediterranen, we kept our 45-foot sail boat in the marina just 15 minutes walk from our house. We sailed to Sardinia just 120 miles North, and to Sicily 220 miles North-East. We cruised East to Turkey in one summer, then to Corfue, and Creete another summer. And then West to the Balearic island and Barcelona, and even north all the way to Lisbone, Britany France, the Baltic sea and reached Stockholm at the end of a three months journey.
Locally, we made small hops to the Island of La Galitte, 30 knotical miles north, where the fishing was excellent and the "Langust" abondant.
When not sailing far, the local coves offered secluded retreats for a swim and snorkeling in a turqoise clean waters. The beaches and the hotels at a walking distance provide an easy swim and excellent meals. Yes, there is an 18-hole golf, and the mountains just out of town are waiting to be discovered.
You can shop for any thing locally, and Europe is only one to two hours away, depending on the destination. |
